Season 02 Relationships
DAVIS MOTOMIYA AND YOLEI INOUE
I really like their relationship. I think that they're really great friends, even if Yolei is older. Their relationship reminds me on the relationship between V-mon
and Davis. They are great friends, they laugh together, they joke together and they argue in a funny way. They are always making fun or argue with each other. Even though
there isn't any romance between them, Davis was a little angry and jealous of Ken because Yolei daydreamed about him and they all thought that Ken's like a "superman", because
he was good at everything.
And they both share some funny moments. Like when they tried to get Cody and Ken together so that they would get along better (Cody still didn't forgive Ken for destroying the Digital world as Digimon Kaiser). And also in Japan they use a broad array of honorific suffixes for addressing or referring to people. And Davis and Yolei don't use them on each other (as Davis-kun (or chan) and Yolei (Miyako)-san). But once Davis said to her Yolei-san and she was really surprised and also one time Yolei said Dai-chan and he knew she wants something.
But besides their arguing, I think that they really knew each other. That they're really good to each other. In episode 24 Davis was babysitting Punimons, because Yolei arranged that and Davis did a great job and it was really relaxing for him.
Yolei: I left it [babysitting the Punimons] to them [Davis and V-mon]. I knew he'd be perfect.*
When Kari was worried about BlackWarGreymon, Yolei was kinda shocked and Davis told her that Kari is really nice, unlike Yolei. She didn't really mind, she was more thinking about Kari than Davis. I really like that. They don't get angry if someone of them said something like that. I mean, Davis probably didn't even mean that ... he just wanted to to impress Kari.
Davis: Hikari-chan is really nice, unlike you, Miyako.
Yolei (thinking): Yeah, I'm really different from Hikari-chan. She keeps so much inside ...**
In Digimon Tri the four of them (Davis, Ken, Yolei, and Cody) fought Alphamon together and were defeated and captured after they found about King Drasil's plan. The four of them stayed in the capsules on live support till Tai and Nishijima saved them.
In Digimon Last Evolution Kizuna Yolei is studying abroad in Spain and since everyone is busy with their own life they see eachother at Digimon related stuff. Even though they are all so busy they still try to find the time to see each other more - that's why Davis is planning a vacation during the summer with 02 DigiDestined. The relatioship between them stays the same.
As in The Last Evolution Kizuna and all the previous movies and seasons, the relationship between the two of them remains consistent in The Beginning. They can really annoy each other sometimes, and they don't hesitate to show it. In The Beginning timeline, Yolei comes from India, so they probably don't hang out as much as they used to, but their relationship stays the same.

DAVIS MOTOMIYA AND CODY HIDA
Davis and Cody are friends. Great friends. He, Yolie, and Cody went to the holiday together in movie 3. Sometimes Davis thinks of Cody as a little child and sometimes Davis
says something that actually hurt Cody (but he apologizes right after). Besides that Davis really respect Cody, because he's so young and already so intelligent. Sometimes they
don't really agree with each other all the time (for example, when Davis was trying to made him forgive Ken and put everything behind him, but Cody didn't really agree with him, because he just
couldn't forgive Ken for all the pain he caused. Davis also tried to make Ken and Cody friends and he failed at first but they became good friends in time).

In Last Evolution Kizuna Cody and Davis are both so busy so they don't see each other that often that's why Davis is organizing a summer trip for 02 Digidestined. In Drama CD Davis mentiones Cody is still as usual so they relationship is probably the same as before.
In The Beginning, we can still see the same elements of their relationship as in the 02 season, where Davis would sometimes pick on Cody. After they defeat the villain in the movie, Davis
throws the first snowball at Cody's face because he made a sad face. Despite these moments, they are, of course, in a very good relationship.
DAVIS MOTOMIYA AND KEN ICHIJOUJI
Davis and Ken are best friends. In the beginning of the second season, when Davis and the others still didn't know that Ken was actually a Digimon Kaiser, Davis really admired
Ken, because he was their age and he was soo good at everything. Davis was really disappointed when he found out that Ken was actually a Digimon Kaiser. Davis really hated
Digimon Kaiser, because he destroyed so many villages in Digital World for no reason and he wanted to save all the Digimons from him. But even though of all that Ken as Kaiser did, Davis
was the first one who forgave him and accepted him as a partner. Davis also talked to all DigiDestined about Ken and he wanted them to accept him as he did, so that Ken could be
part of their team. At first everyone rejected Ken but after Davis and Ken's DNA digivolution they accepted him as a part of the team. But they all agreed that Davis and Ken are really good
partners because they're so similar.
Yolie: They kinda make a perfect pair, don't you think?*
When their Digimon and they became partners, Ken first didn't (couldn't) accept this because he thought he still isn't good enough for being Davis' partner. He thought that he still isn't good enough to be part of them. Right before ExVeemon and Stingmon digivolved into Paildramon Ken wanted to go to his previous base all alone and risks his life to stop the base from exploding. And Davis was against it.
Davis: If I let you go now and you never come back, I'll regret it forever! So, I won't let you go! You may be okay with it, but I'm not! Live! If you die now, you won't be able to accomplish anything ... I don't want that!**
Ken is afraid of his dark past - he hates his past and the past is haunting him. Davis is always there for him to protect him from his own fears.
Davis: Don't give up! You're not your old self anymore. You're not the Digimon Kaiser! You've been troubled, suffered, and finally broke free of the power of darkness, right? Haven't you atoned for what you did? So there's nothing to fear anymore!***
After a while Ken finally decided that it's okay for him to be partners with Davis and being in the DigiDestined team. So after a while they all get along together well. They were together on a Ken's Christmas party ... Ken also slept at Davis' house and they really became best friends. In episode 39 Ken's place (Tamachi) was in trouble and Davis wanted to go there to help Ken no matter what.
Davis: I'm going to Tamachi. Tamachi is where Ichijouji ... where Ken lives. I have to go help him!
Tai: But Tamachi isn't the only place in trouble. People all over in the world are in danger.
Davis: But Ken is an important friend!****

The two of them are also still very active in Digimon related activities. Best friends for ever! ;D
In The Beginning, Davis and Ken's relationship stays the same. Ken is the calmer one of the duo, while Davis is more of a loud action man. Sometimes, Davis reacts too intensely, and Ken has to calm him down. Even in the movie, Ken mentions that it's nice to see Davis's calmer and introspective side.
Davis: I believe in you, Lui!
Ken: That's a surprise! I'm not used to hearing you be that calm ... I have to say, it's a real rarity!
Davis: There are some things that you just can't solve by racing ahead at full speed. I learned that the hard way by making ramen. And besides ...
Ken: Besides?
Davis: We owe it to Lui to try to understand him and let him do things his way, right?
Ken: You know, this introspective side of you isn't so bad.
Yolei: What's with all the flirting, you two?*****

DAVIS MOTOMIYA AND KARI YAGAMI
Since I own a Daikari page I won't write a lot about their relationship here, because you can find a closer look at Daikari at my Daikari section. So we all know that Kari's
Davis' crush. He wants to be around her all the time (at least at the beginning of the second season - before Ken). In the first episode Davis's really happy to be together
with Kari in the same class again. Davis is very jealous and that's why he doesn't like T.K.. He's sad that T.K. and Kari get along so well (and because they know each other
for so long time) and he also wanted to act really cool to impress Kari. Davis always agrees with her with everything (and he does that really obvious because everyone notices it).
In the end Davis wasn't so pushy anymore (because he spent more time with his best friend Ken) and I think that Kari kinda missed that (check my Daikari research ;)).
In Digimon Tri the original DigiDestined didn't know that Davis, Ken, Yolei, and Cody were missing but they were all absent for a pretty long time. And still no one tried to contact them and no one really thought of them. I guess it has to be pretty normal for them to just disappear and don't stay in touch since no one was worried because of their absence.
In Last Evolutin Drama CD we can see that Davis still has a crush on Kari since the group is talking about a vacation and Davis is imagening all the places he could visit with Kari. Even when Kari comments that seeing him pursue his dreams makes him look kind of cool he gets excited about it. So after 5 years he still has a crush on her.
Cody: When you say “everyone,” to what extent do you mean?
Davis: I was thinking, first, Hikari-chan! Then Takeru, Ken, Iori, and Miyako. I thought about reaching out to Taichi-san and the others too, but our seniors seem pretty busy.

Davis: I like that! Playing tennis with Hikari-chan in Karuizawa!
Davis: I like that… Swimming underwater in the ocean with Hikari-chan ... Hehehe ...

Kari: Seeing you pursue your dreams makes you look kind of cool.
Davis: Huh?! Really?!*
In The Beginning we can see the two of them as they were before, nothing changes.
DAVIS MOTOMIYA AND T.K. TAKAISHI
In the beginning, Davis didn't really like T.K.. As you know Davis really likes Kari and T.K. gets along with her really well. So Davis is a little insecure around him because
he thinks of him as a rival - because of Kari. They actually acts a lot like Matt and Tai in the first season (and I really thought that they'll end up the same as Matt and
Tai - as best friends, but they didn't. Davis has Ken and T.K. has Cody). They are fighting almost all the time (in the beginning), because Davis doesn't like him and he just wants
to fight with him all the time. Davis doesn't agree with T.K. almost all the time. Just because Davis' really jealous. In the first episode he started to be so "rude"
to T.K. when he found out that he knows Kari. When they met before Davis was acting normal.
Even though that "hatred" disappear through the season we could still see that Davis was a little upset when there were some Takari moments. First he kinda competes with T.K. for Kari. For example in episode 7, when Kari called Davis first and he was really happy about it.
Kari: Daisuke-kun! Takeru-kun! You came back!
Davis: Did you hear that, Takeru? She said Daisuke-kun first!
T.K.: Good for you.*
Later when Ken came, T.K. and Davis don't fight anymore. They don't even spent so much time together (not like they used to, because Davis spent his time more with Ken). At first Davis was also really jealous of T.K.'s Digimon, because they were almost the same in their mega level (Angemon and Angewomon) so he also wanted Veemon to be like Angemon.
Others DigiDestined knew that Davis likes Kari and sometimes they were joking about it. Yolei especially. And also in the third movie, when Kari and T.K. went to America to visit Mimi they took a picture together to make Davis jealous.
In Digimon Tri the original DigiDestined didn't know that Davis, Ken, Yolei, and Cody were missing but they were all absent for a pretty long time. And still no one tried to contact them and no one really thought of them. I guess it has to be pretty normal for them to just disappear and don't stay in touch since no one was worried because of their absence.
In Last Evolution Kizuna they try to stay in touch even though they are all very busy with their own life. They are both still active in Digimon related activity and in Drama CD they are all talking about going to a summer trip together.
Nothing really changed between the two of them in The Beginning; they are still very good friends who participate in all the Digimon activities. Davis has a really energetic and optimistic outlook on situations, which T.K. recognizes and goes along with.
DAVIS MOTOMIYA AND TAI YAGAMI
Davis and Tai. I love their relationship. Tai knew Davis before Davis became one of the DigiDestined. They were both in the soccer club together.
Davis has Tai for an idol (of course he wants to please Tai for Kari too xD). And Tai also trusted Davis a lot (I'm still talking about their relationship before Digimon), because
Tai mentioned the digital world to Davis before. I mean, he wouldn't do that if he wouldn't trust him. I think that Tai gave his goggles to Davis so soon is because he knew him and
they are both very similar. They both want to save everything they can, they both love Kari (not in the same way!) are both stubborn and want to be everywhere. Davis is just like Tai from season 1.
Tai sometimes plays Davis's older brother and tells him what to do or not to do (or he just gave him some advice).
Davis is known as someone who doesn't have the smart speeches or ideas (at the beginning, in the end he has grown up so much!) and in episode 43 when Davis suggested that they should rest a little bit they were all looking at him really weird. Davis asked if he said something stupid and Tai answered him that that's the point - he said something good.
Tai: N-no ... you actually said something good for a change, Daisuke.*
Tai also thinks that Davis' hopeless, because he didn't notice how much Ken changed through the series. They all laught when Tai said that.
Tai: You're hopeless ... Well, I guess that's what makes you who you are.**
Davis is always there to help Tai. In the movie 4 Tai decided to go through the gate in the net to stop Diablomon and Davis wanted to go with him, but Tai thought that it would be better if he stayed in the real world and protect it. So yeah, they are like brothers.

DAVIS MOTOMIYA AND SORA TAKENOUCHI
What to say here? Sora accepted Davis as a new leader of the new group and she helped them to save the world (time to time :p). In the second episode if the second season it seems like
Sora knew Davis. When Tai told her (and the others) that Davis is the new DigiDestined and that Agumon couldn't evolve but Davis' Digimon evolved - armor evolution, she knew he was
talking about Davis from a soccer club. We know that Davis and Tai were together in a soccer club and we also know that Sora played soccer in the first season, so maybe they played soccer
together? I don't know. Besides that they get along, he helped her finding Biyomon and later she helped them saving the Digital and Real world. Sora thinks that Davis is much like Tai.
Tai: Agumon and the rest couldn't evolve, but Daisuke's Digimon could.

DAVIS MOTOMIYA AND MATT ISHIDA
In the beginning Davis didn't really like Matt. And I think that Matt didn't really like him either. As you know Matt and T.K. are really close and when T.K. told Davis that
he met his sister, Davis was sure that she didn't say anything good about him. That's just because they don't get along that well as T.K. and Matt or Kari and Tai. Davis'
relationship with Jun is more natural and they argue a lot. So Davis told T.K. that he doesn't really like Jun and that really upset Matt. He and Davis were kinda rude.
Matt: If you were my younger brother, I wouldn't forgive you for that. I'd beat you up.
Davis: Interesting. Bring it, then!
Davis: Why can't he just shut up? I can say whatever I want about that stupid girl.*
Davis also attacked Matt when he punched Tai and Davis was really shocked, because of that. But Matt only did that so that Tai wouldn't be so desperate. But after Davis' armor egg of friendship they get along pretty well. So I supposed they forget about these little fights and put them behind them.

They are both still active in Digimon related activities so through the movie Matt relies on Davis and his group with helping him defeat the enemies even though Davis and his group were in New York.

DAVIS MOTOMIYA AND IZZY IZUMI
Izzy is like Yolei. He is a computer geek. In the beginning he's always there, because of all this computer stuff and he's the only one who makes all the researches about
Digimon and digivice and all digivolutions. They're friends. He's always there to help the new group and because of him the new DigiDestined group accomplished much more than they
would if Izzy wouldn't be around. They have Yolei, but Izzy knows a lot about Digimon stuff because he is the DigiDestined longer and he has resources.

First I thought that they don't have any special relationship. Mimi wasn't there so much in the season 2 and I thought that his relationship with her is the same as the relationship between Davis and
Joe. But apparently they get along much well. I mean in the series we could see that Mimi was actually really popular and they all get along with her. But if you read the drama CD (Digimon adventure 02: the door to summer) you'll see
that their relationship is actually pretty good. When Davis went to New York to see the city he also went to see Mimi and they were both really happy to see each other.
After Chibimon told Mimi that Kari refused Davis' invitation to the beach she was shocked because she didn't know anything about this. When I read this I imagined Davis and Mimi (maybe with Yolei together) chatting and gossip about other DigiDestined.
But hey, maybe they do that! We don't know ;p

Joe is way older than Davis. Joe has a lot of stuff and exams to and that's why he isn't around the new DigiDestined group as much as Tai and others are. But still, Davis
and Joe get along well, but I don't think that they have any special connection than this. They probably don't see each other that much - because he's busy and Davis spent his time with the
new DigiDestined group. Davis hangs out more with Tai, Izzy, and Matt than Joe, Sora or Mimi.
