Kari is Tai's little sister. She was intended to be one of the DigiDestined team from the beginning, but she had the flu and couldn't go to camp with the others.
Kari is a pocket mystic. Wise beyond her years, Kari is also full of compassion and patience. She's still a kid, though, and sometimes her empathy outstrips her judgement. However, you can be sure that everything Kari does is done for the right reasons. (Fox Kids)
"Taichi's younger sister and a 2nd grader in Odaiba elementary school. Because she caught a summer cold, she is unable to go to camp and rests at home. When Taichi is blown back towards Tokyo along with Koromon after their fight with Etemon, she acts as if she had once met Koromon, confusing the two. The truth turns out to be that 4 years ago when Digimon appeared in the real world, she and Taichi encounter Koromon for the first time, but Hikari is the only one who remembers it clearly. She becomes known as the eighth Chosen Children before long, partnering with Tailmon, and joining the rest of the children to their adventures back in the Digital World. Because she had recently gotten over an illness, she gives off the impression that she is very sickly throughout the series, but she is actually a cheerful and bright girl. That strength of hers is shown when she would not give in to fear even in front of Vamdemon.
Hikari's family - Yagami Susumi. Taichi and Hikari's father. He loves his family above anything else. When the people of Odaiba were held prisoner by Vamdemon at Big Sight, he gathered up a few and planned out a means of escape. He showed himself to be reliable when it counts.
Yagami Yuuko. Taichi and Hikari's mother. With her candid personality, she goes about doing the housework energetically for her family. When Greymon appeared to stop the Bakemon's attacks, she was under the impression that it had attacked her children and was deeply worried. Digimon Adventure: Last Evolution Kizuna: A freshman majoring in early childhood education at a women's junior college. Taichi's decision to live on his own has led to a distance forming between the siblings, but Hikari sees him sometimes at Digimon-related activities. (TOEI)

Season 01 (デジモンアドベンチャー)
She is Tai's little sister. Tai is 3 years older than her. We get to know Kari in episode 21 where noone (except us) knows she is the eighth digidestined. She officially becomes one in episode 34. This bothers many digimon fans, because Kari takes one of the main roles in the group. The power of her crest often shows digidestined a way out of troubles. But she sometimes still represents a problem for the group, because she is the youngest and the older ones (especially Tai) must take care of her (and T.K.). Her bad health also doesn't help. Well, this is only one side of her, otherwise she gets along with everyone, especially with T.K. and Sora (and Tai, of course). But even thought she is the youngest in the group she acts really wise for her age. Sometimes she's like Tai's older sister.
Season 02 (デジモンアドベンチャー02)
Three years older Kari and T.K. aren't that dependend on their brothers anymore. In some moments the strong connection between Kari and Tai is still to see. Kari and T.K. are are in the same class along with their new digidestined group leader David. T.K. and her are the only ones who kept their role from season 1, even though they are sometimes in shadow of the new digidestined. Kari is even more sensitive in the opposite of her crest - darkness. In season 1 she was often sick, but in season 2 she is healthier. First she didn't really hang out with the new digidestined and she was more with T.K., but when Gatomon and Hawkmon digivolved together, Kari opens herself more to the others. Like in the first season she get along very well with the new digidestined and also with the old ones.

Digimon Tri (デジモンアドベンチャーtri)
In 2005 Kari is in a second year of junior high school together with T.K.. Just like in the second season her love for the photography is still there. She still cares a lot for others, especially for her brother and is worried about him a lot. She believes everyone's heart has a light and a dark side to it. She chooses to believe in the light side of it and wants others to believe in it too. She has this mysterious power where she reconnects with Gatomon who gives her a prophecy that helps Izzy to solve the mystery why Meicoomon was the only one left with her memories after the reboot.
Digimon Last Evolution Kizuna (デジモンアドベンチャー Last Evolution 絆)
Even though this is a movie and not a whole new season I decided to put this here too since it's a different time period than other seasons and movies. In last evolution Kizuna Kari is 19 years old and a freshmen at a women's junior College majoring in early childhood education. She is still a caring person like before. Even if Tai doesn't live with her anymore she still sees him at Digimon related activity just to remind him to come around sometimes since her mother wants to see more of him. She has a plan for her future and goes towards her future goals. From the drama CD, we also learn that Kari is attending piano practice, with Gatomon's support.

Digimon Adventure 02: The Beginning (デジモンアドベンチャー02 THE BEGINNING)
Similar to The Last Evolution Kizuna, I’ve categorized this under the "Seasons" section because it represents a different time period from the previous movies and seasons. The events of The Beginning take place two years after The Last Evolution Kizuna, making Kari 21 years old. While her current living situation is not detailed, we know that Kari is pursuing a degree in early childhood education at a junior college. To gain practical experience for her future career, she works part-time at a nursery school. Throughout her busy schedule, Gatomon is by her side, providing support and companionship. Their bond remains strong, and Gatomon continues to be a source of encouragement as Kari navigates her studies and work.

DRAMA CD: Digimon adventure 02: original story, spring 2003 (デジモンアドベンチャー０２ オリジナルストーリー ２００３年 -春-)
This Drama CD is happening in spring 2003 (At many pages I saw that they write the name of the drama as Summer 2003, but on the
CD there's a japanese kanji for spring and not summer). So, this Drama is actually after season 2 but before the epilogue. This happen
one year after they became a Digidestined (Davis, Yolei and Cody).
In Kari's part she talks about Digimon and their partners. First she describes her digimon partner (Gatomon/Tailmon). Later she explains to us Digimon's levels. She says that many people get their Digimon when they're baby level, but you can also get one in their child (rookie) level. But we musn't worry because even if our Digimon is in baby level he'll evolve someday - when he'll get the energy he need to evolve. She also says that the siblings have the same Digimon, but they can also have different ones (Kari, Tai, T.K. and Matt are currently the only 4 siblings that have diffent Digimons). She tries to calm us down if we still haven't got our Digimon - we'll get one when we'll be ready. But Digimon aren't here just for fun, if you get one that's because there's something you must do - like saving Earth or Digital world. In the end of her part she get a messages that Davis' sister just get Digimon partner and so did Yolei's sisters and also Joe's.

Family
MOTHER YUUKO YAGAMI
Mrs. Yagami is a nice mother, who wants to do everything what her children want (in the second movie Tai wants a cake and
he gets it (well, would get it, if it didn't burned xD). I would say she's quite young (at least she looks young).
She practically lets her children do what they want but she still cares for them a lot. She really cares for her children.
When Kari had a fever Yuuko called her and checked if she is alright and if she took her medicine.
She was really worried about her children and she also cried when Bakemon "kidnapped" her and she saw Tai and Kari on Greymon - she didn't know that
Greymon is a good digimon and she thought that he is going to eat them. Beside that she is very reasonable person since she let
Tai and Kari go to Digital world alone (I mean without any adult).
FATHER SUSUMU YAGAMI
We get a strange opinion about him when we watch the first movie. While Kari and Tai are hiding Agumon in their room,
father comes home and he's drunk. I know, this is nothing special, but then mother says to him something like: 'Every
night you are like this!' xD If we believe what subtitles are saying (japanese is not something I understand). Otherwise
I think he still presents a good character, who loves his family. I think that he really get along well with Kari and Tai (and Yuuko too).
I remember that episode when Kari and Susumu were both watching TV together and laughing really hard. He is just like Yuuko. He cares
for his children and wants to protect them. He even fought with Bakemons to help everyone to be free (they were kind of imprisoned).
CHILD ~ SON
25 years after Season 02 Kari has one child - son (first I wasn't really sure if it's a boy or a girl). He looks just like his mother when she was young. We don't know his name and we don't even know
who his father is. As all children in the world he also has his own digimon partner. You guessed right, his digimon partner is Salamon!
TAI AND HIS FAMILY
Great family, great love... Tai is always there for Kari and so is Kari for her brother. They would do whatever it takes to
protect each other. They also help each other very much. For example when Tai was hiding his digimon infront of his parents.
Or when Kari was much younger and she wet her bed and Tai always covered for her.
When Kari becomes a digidestined and goes to the digiworld, Tai always cares for her and is worried about her.
Allthough Kari is 3 years younger, she sometimes appears like an older worried sister.
25 years later Tai has one son which is Kari's nephew. We don't know his name and his mother but we do know
that his digimon si Koromon.
GRANDPARENTS
We never see Tai's grandparents. They are just mentioned. Yuuko and Susumu went to the hospital to visit Tai's grandmother. She fell and bowed her ankle. She
wasn't hurt that much and she was released 3 days after. Both grandmother and grandfather were more worried about Kari's cold. They also said that they look forward to see
Kari and Tai again. When Tai first came from Digital world his parents were visiting his grandparents.
CAT MIKO
Cat like any other cat - agressive (attacks Koromon (Movie 1)), jealous (attacks Koromon when Kari takes her food
to feed Koromon (Movie 1)), curious (discoveres Kari's digivice (Season 1)), wants to know everything
(watches Diablomon and good digimon fighting on Izzy computer (Movie 2)).
I don't know which type of a cat is she and I can't even guess.
