Taiora Rumors
A few years ago there was this rumor about Tai and Sora, how they were supposed to end up together but Tai's fangirls didn't want him to be with Sora or with anyone, so TOEI killed this idea and put Sora together with Matt. I got this information back in 2012 and I planned on researching it because it sounded interesting. Apparently I was very active on Digimon forum back then and I was talking to this girl, who talked to some of Digimon's producers, writers. Now we all know that the Adventure Head writer Satoru Nishizono didn't like the Taiora pairing and saw the two of them more as really good friends. They planned the ending of the 2nd season and Sorato already from the beginning. Or at least Satoru Nishizono did. Taiora was supposedly still some's favorite pairing.
Nela: Yeah, I talked to Nishizono, Yoshimura, Konaka and Yoshida (who wrote the first 4 movies and episodes in all seasons). As well as with some of the Seiyuu and guys from the music.Well, what I know are a few things: The series was actually never intended to go much into pairings, though a lot of writers couldn't hold back and brought in some hints for ther personal favorites. For most of the Adventure writing crew (and the directors Kakudo as well as Hosoda) Taichi/Sora was a big favorite though, which resulted in a lot of hints, of course. Though there were people, such as Adentures head writer Satoru Nishizono, who saw them more as very close friends.
With Daisuke/Hikari it was never anything more then a comic relief. From the writers of 02 I've talked with nobody favored it, though I know Hiromi Seki, the producer of the first 4 Digimon Seasons (who, by the way, was the one who forced Yamato X Sora into the script) liked the pair. From the headwriters of 02 Yoshimura is more in the "A children's show doesn't need romance" fraction, while Maekawa was the one to bring in the Daisuke/Ken hints (he in generally seems to prefer homosexual pairings, both Boys Love and Girls Love).
I kinda forgot about this talk with this girl and 8 years later when I was cleaning my emails I found them saved in my page's files. I know that back then I was a little bit suspicious about this but since we know a lot of facts about Satoru Nishizono's love for Sorato I think it's quite possible. I know the second movie "Our war game" confuses a lot of people but you have to understand that Satoru Nishizono didn't have anything to do with the movie, that's why there are so many Taiora scenes in it.
