Season 01 (& digimon tri) Relationships

SORA TAKENOUCHI AND TAI YAGAMI

Since I own a Taiora page I won't write a lot about their relationship here, because you can find a closer look at Taiora at my Taiora section. Tai and Sora are the only ones who know each other well before they went to the digital world. They were in the same class when they both still lived in Hikarigaoka. They also play soccer together - in the same club (they probably played soccer for school). At the beginning of the season they talk and discuss things with each other more than with others. They care for each other and stuff like that. They are really great friends. Time to time there are moments when we aren't so sure anymore if they love each other as friends or something more. But in the second season Sora stopped with soccer and they don't go to the same school anymore and Sora kinda lost her interest in Tai. She replace Tai with Matt and in the end, she also marries him. Tai had to deal with it just like a grown-up would. Also Agumon saw that he really grown up and that he's not as he was when they first met.

In Digimon Tri their relationship stays the same. They are in the same high school, same age, dealing with the same stuff. In the Tri movies it's not really focused on just their relationship but it's more about the dynamic of the trio - Matt, Tai, Sora. As usual Matt and Tai like to fight with each other and Sora is always there to try to calm them down. Like she is with the rest of the group she always worries about the two of them too. And so do Tai and Matt about her. When she was down they noticed and try to console her even though they probably made a bigger mess.

In Last Evolution Kizuna it seems like their relationship is still good but since Sora doesn't participate in the Digimon activities anymore they probably don't see eachother as much as before. In the first story of 20th memorial stories is shown that Sora knows whats going on with Tai so they are probably still in contact. Sora was always taking care of others and thinking about them so I doubt this has changed. She still believes in her friends and support them even though they don't see each other that much.

In The Beginning, it's mentioned that the 01 kids are very busy living their lives, so they are not in as much contact as they were when they were young.

SORA TAKENOUCHI AND MATT ISHIDA

After the first season I don't know if anyone would expect that Sora and Matt would end together. In season 1 there weren't many/any moments that would prove their love or something like that. Actually they didn't talk that much to each other. Matt was always so "obsessed" with T.K. and his younger brother was all that he had in his mind (yeah, he was a really great older brother - maybe a little too much). But hey, T.K. was really young and he needed him. Throughout the whole season T.K. was growing up and in the end he didn't really need Matt anymore. But enough about those two. Because of T.K. Matt often picked a fight with someone - (Tai ...), but he also had his moments when he stressed his anger on Sora.

Matt (to Sora): Look at what you've done! Now we don't know where Takeru is!!
Tai: Hey! Calm down Yamato! *

When Sora was kidnapped by Datamon and Tai couldn't save her he was very sad. The next day they were planning how to get Sora back. Tai was really full of energy and will to save her and Matt told him that they all feel the same - that Sora is a close friend to all of them.

Tai: Sora's in there ... Guys, I know it'll be dangerous, but I want to do whatever it takes to save Sora! So ...
Matt: We know Taichi. We feel the same. **

Later in the episodes when Matt was really angry at Tai and somehow made a rival of him Matt didn't want to go with the group forward. He said that he needs time alone. Since T.K. didn't really know what's wrong with Matt Sora explained to him and for that Matt thanked her.

Sora (to Matt): Oh ... but I know you'll be fine, Yamato. I believe in you. ***

So season 1 ends with them being just friends. Even at the beginning of the second season we aren't so sure about them either. Their relationship caught our attention in episode 38 of Season 02. In that episode, Matt and his band had a Christmas concert and Sora baked some cookies for them. She was very nervous and didn't want to go inside the tent where the band played. She finally went in when Tai told her to go. Her and Matt's relationship was a mystery to Tai too because he was very surprised to find her there. After that episode we see some Sorato moments (like Matt holding Sora's shoulder or when the tent where Matt's band played crashed Matt took care of Sora - Davis' sister didn't really like that ...).

In the fourth movie they just confirm their relationship. We can see a picture of Matt and Sora together (Sora was holding his hand). And they looked like a couple already. This movie was 3 months after the season 2. And at the end of the season, we can see Sora and Matt married together with two children - a daughter and a son. Even though T.K. never says they are married, it's impossible not to notice the similarity of the children and their parents. We can also see the evidence of their dating in Drama CD: Digimon Adventure 02 Drama CD: Armour Evolution To The Unknown from 2003 where Sora is buying stuff for homemade chocolate and every one is surprised she and Matt are dating. Sora is trying to ignore them when they talk about how the two of them look together. Later in a drama Matt also express his love to Sora and Biyomon is very supportive of their relationship. We can also hear Sora talking to Matt's father about how she is always so nice and kind to Matt. We can hear the two of them getting along pretty well.

Sora: Oh, you guys go ahead, we forgot to get something.
Biyomon: That’s right! ‘Homemade chocolate’!
Everyone: Whoo~whoo!
Sora: Hey! Piyomon!
Gatomon: I can’t believe Yamato and Sora are dating.
Palmon: I never would have imagined it.
Sora: (Trying to change the subject.) Hey, guess what! I found a really good cake shop in Odaiba!
Mimi: Oh yeah? I didn’t think it was that out there. I actually think they’d be really good together! The only thing I’d worry about is that the two of them both tend to jump to conclusions.
Sora: The mont blanc is really good and their milk crepes are the best I’ve ever had!
Gatomon: Yeah, of all the Chosen Children, the two of them are the worst for getting the wrong idea about things.
Kari: I just hope they don’t get in a huge messy fight.
Sora: Hey, what say we all go check it out sometime?
Mimi: If they did, Yamato-san would be the one to give in for sure.
Palmon: Yeah, Sora’s way more stubborn than Yamato. ****

In Digimon Tri they are in the same high school, same age, dealing with the same stuff. But for the first time it's actually shown a little bit of Sora and Matt being friends so it doesn't seem like the pairing came out of nowhere.

In Last Evolution Kizuna is not really said what's up with their relationship status but Sora knowing about Matt's life and vice versa we can conclude that they are probably having a good relationship.

In The Beginning, it's mentioned that the 01 kids are very busy living their lives, so they are not in as much contact as they were when they were young.

SORA TAKENOUCHI AND IZZY IZUMI

Izzy is younger than Sora, so they weren't together in the same class or anything like that. They met (or they get to know each other) when they went to the camp together - but probably they had seen each other before (since they both went to the same school). At the beginning of season 1 Izzy was kinda one of the main characters - along with Sora. Tai always discussed important things with Izzy and Sora. So because of that they were kinda more connected. In the first season they are good friends (like she or he were to everyone else) and their relationship never changes. Even in season 2 or in the movies they were just friends. Izzy was younger than her but he acted very mature (and he knew a lot of different stuff, he was really smart) so Sora didn't act like an older sister to him or something like that. And in season 2 they aren't shown that much so we actually don't even know anything about their relationship being changed.

In Digimon Tri Sora acts like a mom of the DigiDestined group. With so much happening around them and her knowing Izzy is working very hard she checks up on his well being too otherwise she would get worried. In Last Evolution Kizuna the two of them don't see each other that often since Sora decided to stop participating in Digimon Related activities and Izzy is basically the driven force behind the activities. Sora still checks up the group chat to be sure that everyone is okay. She believes and supports them even if they're not in contact as much as before.

In The Beginning, it's mentioned that the 01 kids are very busy living their lives, so they are not in as much contact as they were when they were young.

SORA TAKENOUCHI AND MIMI TACHIKAWA

As the only girls in the group, they often stick together. They get closer somewhere in the middle of season 1. Although Sora's style is the opposite of Mimi's style, they are still great friends in season 1. Mimi is younger than Sora and she is kinda spoiled and she is still a kid. I think that Sora often acts like an older sister to her (and to some other DigiDestined). They are both girls - with different styles ~ Sora is a tomboy and Mimi's style is more girly, they both like to make fun of Joe and stuff like that. Sometimes we can see some action of Mimi which proved that she's a little spoiled but through the season she really grows up. Sora always has a good opinion about her.

Sora: We've only spent a day here and she's gotten stronger. *

When Sora was kidnapped and Tai was really sad about it and he was so energetic about his plan to rescue her that Matt had to calm him down that they all feel the same and Mimi also adds that Sora is a close friend to all of them.

Mimi: Sora-san is a close friend among all of us here. **

When Mimi became a princess of Gekomons she exploited all the Digimon and she acted really spoiled. She even turned her back against Tai, Joe, and Palmon. That night Mimi couldn't sleep well so Sora visits her in her bedroom. Sora was hiding from them because she thought that she doesn't deserve the crest of love. Sora told her that what she had done was wrong and that she knows how to fix the things she had made. She also adds that she is a really good girl.

Sora: You're really a good girl, Mimi-chan! ***

There are still some action that proves that she is younger than the rest. And even Sora explained it as Mimi's being still a kid. For example when Mimi saw a coffee machine in the digital world and she ran to it (and probably hoping that she could have some of it).

Tai: Geez.
Sora: It can't be helped. She's still a kid ****

In season 2 they don't see each other that often anymore, because Mimi moved to New York and Sora still lives in Japan, so it's hard to say if they are still such good friends.

In Digimon Tri Mimi moves back to Japan and goes to the same school as Sora. Sora always tries to make everybody get along together. That's why she can't stand Matt and Tai fighting and when Izzy reprimands Mimi for being selfish Sora tries to calm Izzy and Mimi down. Otherwise, we can see the girls together all the time. In Digimon Tri we can see these bonds between the original DigiDestined that were not shown in the second season.

In Last Evolution Kizuna both Mimi and Sora don't participate in Digimon related activities anymore. Sora has a bit of a bad feeling because of it but Mimi consoles her that it's okay for her doing what she wants to do without feeling bad since everybody is going to support her anyway. They are still close friends as they used to be but since everybody is busy with their own life they don't see each other often but stay in contact.

In The Beginning, it's mentioned that the 01 kids are very busy living their lives, so they are not in as much contact as they were when they were young.

SORA TAKENOUCHI AND JOE KIDO

Joe is the oldest of the DigiDestined group. Because of it Sora often calls him Senpai. And if you didn't know senpai is a person who is older and who knows more than you in something that both of you learn. The exact translation of it would be senior, superior, upperclassman. Joe has a lower self-image and from time to time he doesn't really believe in himself. Sora often encourages him to think better of himself and in one episode she made him a leader because of it. It was actually Gomamon's idea but Sora took it very seriously because she kept calling him leader! Joe was first against it but later he realized that he had to come together and he accepted the role of the leader.

when Joe went to a mountain to check it, because he thought that this is his duty because he is the oldest, Sora and Tai went to the mountain to find and save him. They both really care for him.

Mimi and Sora are the only girls there (before Kari) and they both like to make fun of Joe. Actually they both don't make fun of him but of his bravery.

Joe: We'll make darned sure that the sun does come up!
Sora: Looking good, Jyou-senpai!
Mimi: It doesn't suit you at all! *

Mimi and Sora also joking about Joe's being next to dissapear.

Sora: Taichi and Agumon haven't come back since last night. And now it's Koushiro-kun and Yamato-kun. It's quite mysterious how they're disappearing one after another.
Mimi: Maybe Jyou-senpai is next.
Joe: H-hey, don't say weird stuff like that! **

As I already said many times in season 2 they stop hanging out so much, but they are still good friends. All of them.

Even in Digimon Tri Joe spent a lot of his time studying for school and he didn't have time to help DigiDestined with their battles. Everybody was trying to get a hold of him, even Sora. So when he realized how much Gomamon and the rest of the group needed him he came back full of energy ready to save the world.

In Last Evolution Kizuna Sora is doing stuff away from Digimon battles and Digimon related activities that's why she doesn't see others very often. She still checks the group chat to see that everyone is okay. She believes in her friends and support them when in need.

In The Beginning, it's mentioned that the 01 kids are very busy living their lives, so they are not in as much contact as they were when they were young.

SORA TAKENOUCHI AND T.K. TAKAISHI

T.K. is younger than Sora (he is the same age as Kari) and in the beginning he is kinda attached to his older brother Matt and so is Matt. And Sora is like an older sister to him. She took care of him when Matt wasn't around and all that stuff. Just like Matt and time to time Tai Sora also takes care of T.K.. Once T.K. almost fall and he hurt himself a little. T.K. didn't want to be a bother to them so he just said that it hurts a little but he is going to handle the pain. Sora told him that's okay to say it out loud if it still hurts. It's just like she was teaching him or better showing him how to deal with these kinds of stuff in his life.

Tai: Are you okay, Takeru?
T.K.: It hurts. But I'm okay, I'll bear with it.
Sora: You don't have to. It's okay to say that it still hurts. *

When Sora was gone, because she was hiding from them, because she wasn't sure that her crest really belongs to her, T.K. was scared that Sora's hiding from them because she hates them. But that's not true at all. He didn't want her to leave them again.

T.K.: I really like you, Sora-san. So don't leave us anymore, okay? **

Sora also takes care of him and Kari when Piedmon attacked them. Sora sacrificed her life so that Kari and T.K. could run away. She really believed in both of them. In season 2 they are still the same. T.K. is older but I think that he still thinks of her as his older sister. And now if Sora is in danger, T.K. saves her just like she did when he was young. Well, they should have a good relationship, since they are practically a family.

Their relationship stays the same in the Digimon Tri movies. It's just funny how Matt thought of T.K. when he and Tai didn't know how to act around Sora when she was feeling down. T.K. would know what to say. And even in the last movie, T.K. was the one who noticed Sora's new haircut.

SORA TAKENOUCHI AND KARI YAGAMI

Kari is Tai's little sister, but sometimes Sora also acts like her older sister. They know each other because of Tai and when they met in the real world they didn't actually see each other for the first time. Kari was probably sometimes at Tai's soccer training or game and since Sora was his teammate they probably saw each other before. Tai really loves Kari and he trusted Sora to take care of her. When Myotismon was searching for Kari, Sora and Matt tried to protect her. But when Kari saw that she is making her friends getting hurt she decided to give herself in. Sora and Matt were really worried because of that (and probably a little scared of Tai ;D).

Later when Kari got sick Sora was taking care of her again. Along with T.K.. And also when Kari, T.K., and Sora were separated from all the others Sora took care of them both. Also at the end of season 1 when Piedmon attacked them Sora sacrificed her life so that Kari and T.K. could ran away. She didn't sacrifice in wain because T.K. saved them in the end.

In season 2 they are still good friends. Since Kari is now with the new DigiDestined group they don't hang out together anymore. Sora isn't shown so much in season 2 but when she is she is there with the whole group, not just with Kari.

In Digimon Tri we didn't get any special Sora and Kari moments. They get along very good and they function well together. Even though Sora is the one who cares for the other T.K. usually cares for Kari in the Tri series. But it's nice seeing girls hanging out together.

Season 02 Relationships

SORA TAKENOUCHI AND DAVIS MOTOMIYA

What to say here? Sora accepted Davis as a new leader of the new group and she helped them to save the world (time to time :p). In the second episode if the second season it seems like Sora knew Davis. When Tai told her (and the others) that Davis is the new DigiDestined and that Agumon couldn't evolve but Davis' Digimon evolved - armor evolution, she knew he was talking about Davis from a soccer club. We know that Davis and Tai were together in a soccer club and we also know that Sora played soccer in the first season, so maybe they played soccer together? I don't know. Besides that they get along, he helped her finding Biyomon and later she helped them saving the Digital and Real-world. Sora thinks that Davis is much like Tai.

Tai: Agumon and the rest couldn't evolve, but Daisuke's digimon could.
Sora: Daisuke from the soccer club, in the Digital World? *

In Digimon Tri the original DigiDestined didn't know that Davis, Ken, Yolei, and Cody were missing but they were all absent for a pretty long time. And still no one tried to contact them and no one really thought of them. I guess it has to be pretty normal for them to just disappear and don't stay in touch since no one was worried because of their absence.

In Last Evolution Kizuna Sora is doing stuff away from Digimon battles and Digimon related activities that's why she doesn't see others very often.

In The Beginning, it's mentioned that the 01 kids are very busy living their lives, so they are not in as much contact as they were when they were young.

* - Digimon Adventure 02; Episode 2 - Digigate Opens

SORA TAKENOUCHI AND YOLEI INOUE

Yolei is a lot like Mimi was in the first season. Not their styles but their personalities. Sora kinda helps Yolei how to deal with being a DigiDestined. As you know Yolei and Mimi didn't want to fight because they both didn't want to hurt anyone. Sora explained Yolei that in the beginning it's like this but someday she'll be really thankful for the all adventures she is going to have with Digimon in the Digital world. Sora is a really great role model for her (and so she was for Mimi). And also they both went together in Russia to help to catch all the Digimon. And in episode 12, Yolei helped Sora to find and save Biyomon. So I think they are actually really good friends.

Yolei: Sora-san ...
Sora: A while ago, a girl called Mimi-chan said the same thing . "I don't want to fight", "I don't want to see anyone hurt ...". I don't want to either. But someday, you'll be thankful for meeting the Digimon and taking part in an adventure with them. So, do your best. *

SORA TAKENOUCHI AND CODY HIDA

You got me. Cody and Sora are good friends. They all are. But they don't have any special relationship. She respects him and he respects her. They don't hang much. So yeah. If you know anything about their relationship, please tell me, because I really don't know what to write here.

SORA TAKENOUCHI AND KEN ICHIJOUJI

As all the digidestined she hated Digimon Kaiser for all the pain and for all what he has done. But when they Ken changed and when he wasn't a Digimon Kaiser anymore she accepted him as all the rest. Even though she didn't spend her time with him that much she noticed changes in his behaviour. She was really happy that he changed and that he also accept himself as a digidestined and of course as a part of their team.

Sora: Ichijouji-kun has changed, hasn't he?
Kari: He sure has. *

Digimon Tri relationships

SORA TAKENOUCHI AND MEIKO MOCHIZUKI

Meiko is in the same class as Sora, Matt, and Tai. And since she transferred to their Highschool from Tottori she doesn't have any friends (besides her Digimon partner). And even before they knew she was one of the DigiDestined Sora was really nice to her. Sora tries to make sure that Meiko feels part of their group by helping and supporting her. When Meicoomon disappears to the digital distortion and Meiko was feeling really sad Sora (together with Mimi) takes care of her. She even visits her at her home to check how she is. Meiko also jokes about Sora acting like a mother. When they are together in the digital world and when Sora is sad because Biyomon doesn't want to reconnect with Sora Meiko tries to cheer her up and fill her with hope. And since Meiko is dealing with a lot of stuff because of Meicoomon Sora and the others are always there for her, supporting her, consoling her.
