Tai and Agumon

Agumon and Tai are best friends already from the beginning. Before they met in the digital world they had met in the real world, when he was still living in Hikarigaoka. Apparently they all forget about this accident. They always support each other. Tai is always on Agumon's side and so is Agumon. Tai is really supportive when Agumon is fighting. He is always cheering for Agumon. They are kinda similar. For example, Tai doesn't know much about computers and he often hits a computer because it doesn't work. When Tai, Sora, and Agumon found Andromon Tai wanted to hit him because he was just lying there. Sora managed to stop him but instead of Tai Agumon hit him.

When Tai got his crest he wanted Agumon to digivolve into his mega level. He was a totally different person. He forced Agumon in eating food even if he couldn't. When evil Greymon attacked them, Tai exposed himself to a danger just because he believes that when he is in danger Agumon can digivolve into ultimate level. And Agumon did evolve. But the evolution wasn't right so he digivolve in SkullGreymon instead of MetalGreymon. Tai realized that what he did was wrong in that he didn't want Agumon to get hurt because of him. Later he apologized to Agumon because he was such a selfish person.

Koromon: I'm sorry I couldn't rise to your expectations ...
Matt: No, it's not your fault! It's ...
Tai: I know. It's my fault.
Matt: That's not what I meant ...
Tai: It's okay. *

Agumon also support Tai very much. When Sora was kidnapped Tai wanted to go through electrical wires. Tai was afraid because if he would die in the digital world he would also die in the real world. Agumon first offered himself to go first but Tai didn't let him because this was something he needs to do. Because of that Agumon was supporting him and screaming that he could do it. And he did.

Agumon: I'll go first.
Tai: Wait Agumon.
...
Tai: ... I feel like there's something else very precious over there that I'd lost yesterday.
Agumon: Taichi ... You can do it, Taichi!! Bring out your courage!
Tai: I did it!
Agumon: All right!! **

When Tai went to the real world alone (by accident) he wanted Agumon to stay with him in the real world. Agumon didn't really like the idea, because the real world wasn't really for him. When the gate between real world and digital world opened Agumon went through it and he said goodbye to Tai and Kari. Tai didn't want him to leave without him. He wanted to go after Agumon but Kari stopped him. Tai promised her that he'll be back soon and that he has to go with Agumon.

Tai: Agumon!!!
Agumon: Taichi ... Hikari ... Bye-bye!
Tai: Agumon, wait! I'm going too ...! ***

In the end when WarGraymon was fighting with Piedmon, Tai fought along with WarGreymon. And in the end of the first Season they had to say goodbye to each other.

Agumon: Hey! This is the place, right, Taichi? This is where I torched the firewood with my baby flame.
Tai: Yeah, that's right. Then the embers burned Seadramon's tail and that's what made him mad!
Agumon: Huh? It was my fault?
Tai: No. It was me who stuck his tail in the embers.
Agumon: Taichi! *laugh* ****

After the first season Tai didn't see Agumon for three months. He was really sad because of it and he really missed him. After seeing him again he kinda got his life power and will back.

Tai (thinking): The truth is ... I thought of always keeping it at hand. But that actually made me feel even lonelier. I didn't want to face the truth that Agumon wasn't with me anymore. Because ... we'd always been together. Even now, I've never spent such a long time with another person like I did with him. *****

Tai (thinking): I'd be moody and worried, not knowing when the Gate would open next. But still, just being able to see him sometimes was enough. Agumon would always wait for me with a huge grin on his face. Even if we weren't together, he was still so energetic. Just knowing that is enough. I began soccer again. I put my heart and soul in playing. After all, I can't lose to him! To Agumon. To the other me. ******

In season 2 their relationship didn't really change. They are still best friends and they are still happy when they see each other, they fight together, they support each other. Just like in the first season. When Agumon was captured by Digimon Kaiser, Tai couldn't stop thinking about him, he couldn't concentrate on anything else. When they wanted to go in the digital world to save Agumon, Davis, Kari and T.K. were late and Tai was a little mad at them and a little angry too. Tai was really nervous back then, even Gatomon said that he never saw him like that before.

Tai: Wait for me, Agumon! ... I'll rescue you for sure! *******

When Agumon was rescued first he and Tai hugged and they were really glad to see each other. Later Agumon was kidnapped again and Tai became really useless. Davis had to save him all the time and he was really sad until Matt came and punched him. Tai thanked him for opening his eyes. When Raidramon and Garurumon exempted Agumon from Ken, Tai, and Agumon both cried and hugged.

In Last Evolution Kizuna, Tai and Agumon's relationship is a key part of the story. As Tai grows up and faces adult responsibilities, Agumon stays by his side, supporting him. They have a strong bond built on many adventures together. The movie shows that as the DigiDestined, like Tai, get older, their connection to their Digimon partners will weaken, leading to an eventual separation. Despite knowing this, Tai and Agumon continue to tackle new challenges to protect their friends and the Digital World. Throughout the film, Tai thinks about the memories he has with Agumon. These moments show how important their friendship is. The movie ends with Tai and Agumon saying a heartfelt goodbye, with Tai thanking Agumon for all their time together.

Tai: Agumon. We'll always be together.
Agumon: Yeah. ********

Agumon: You've sure gotten big, Taichi.
Tai: And you stayed the same.
Agumon: Hey, Taichi. What will you do tomorrow?
Tai: Good question. Who knows what ... tomorrow may bring. I know, tomorrow ... let's both ...
#Agumon disappears and leaves Tai crying. ********

Digimon Tri

Even though they don't see each other that much in the Digimon Tri movies, they still remain best friends. Tai is growing up, his thinking is different but that doesn't change the relationship between them. Always there for each other, supporting each other. Even when Tai has something on his mind he talks to Agumon about it. They are connected as partners as always.

After the reboot that caused all the Digimon to lose their memories, it wasn't hard for Agumon and Tai to reconnect very quickly even if Agumon had no memories about their past, about all the adventures they had.

In the end when everybody thought that Tai is dead Agumon was sure that's not true and that he will see him again. As they always said, the relationship between DigiDestined and their Digimon partners is exceptional.

Gomamon: Agumon's eating the most.
Agumon: I gotta eat lots and get energized ... for when Taichi comes back.
Sora: Agumon ...
Tentomon: Aww! You make me cry! That's right! Let's have faith. I'm sure Gatomon and Meicoomon, and everyone will come back!
Agumon: Yeah, we'll all meet again. For sure! *
