Matt, Izzy, Kari, T.K. and Joe are hiding behind a bush to observe Oikawa and suspicious children. Izzy is worried about Tai and Sora, who are following one
of Oikawa's children alone.
Izzy: 'Does it bother you that Sora is with Tai instead of you?'
Matt is surprised. 'C'mon. Tai is my best friend and he knows how I feel. Besides, I completely trust Sora, I'm not worried at all, Izzy.'
Meanwhile, Tai, Sora and their digimon try not to be seen by their target. Since the girl is constantly moving, their task isn't very easy.
While they are hiding behind a wall, the girl enters a building.
'Hurry, she mustn't escape us!' Tai wants to run after her but a certain hand holds him back by pulling on his jacket. Biyomon and Agumon are already
running to the building but Agumon stops to see where his partner is. Biyomon pushes him to run further. Tai turns himself to see who stopped him.
'Sora ...?'
Sora is still holding his jacket. She turns all red and takes her hand away from him.
'We ... we need to talk.' Her voice is quiet and nervous. Tai leans on the wall and watches her. He sees that she is kinda sad. He again puts
his hand on her shoulder and she looks at him.
'What's wrong, Sora ...?'
'It's about ... about Matt and me.' Tai's heart starts to beat faster.
'It's OK ... It really is.' He smiles at her and she nervously smiles back.
'I just want you to know that I don't want to lose you, Tai. I hope we can still be friends.'
'Are you kidding me? Best friends, for ever! Sora ...'
Sora isn't smiling anymore. She sees Tai's sadness in his brown eyes and she knows whose fault this is.
'Please, Tai ...' Tai stops her by putting his finger on her lips. His eyes are all wet but he's not crying. He's holding the tears back and she can clearly see
that.
'It doesn't matter anymore, OK?' His voice is so gentle and quiet.
'I don't want you to be sad. Can I do something to make you happy?' she says. Yes you can but I won't ask you to do it ... Tai doesn't say his thoughts loud.
'Maybe ... two things ...'
'Tell me.'
'Don't forget about me ... I-'
'Don't be stupid!' Sora is almost crying.
'And ... maybe ... could I hug you ...?' Sora can't hold her tears anymore. She jumps in Tai's arms herself and starts to cry.
'Oh, Tai, I'm so sorry ... It's just ... I don't know ...'
'Oh, c'mon, Sora! I'm not asking for apology! Stop, please!' Tai is holding her in his arms and tries to calm her.
But he doesn't see someone watching them. Yolei was just passing by when she heard Sora crying ...
Eleven years later Tai is living abroad. He sees his friends once a year on their meeting. But he and Sora haven't seen each other for almost two years now
because his job didn't allow him to come to Japan last year. Of course they've heard each other through their phone calls. She always calls him and sends
him a present for his birthday and christmas. And so does he.
A week before their next meeting he calls his sister Kari to confirm his visit.
'Oh, Tai, you're coming ... Oh, OK ...' Kari's voice gets nervous.
'Is everything alright?' he asks her but she doesn't want to say anything. She just says goodbye and hangs up the phone.
Tai soon forgets about Kari's strange behaviour.
After she ended the conversation with her brother, Kari takes her bag and leaves her flat. She runs to Yolei's house to meet her there and go with her for a
cup of tea.
'Oh, Kari, hi!' Ken opens the door with their first daughter in his arms. She is crying and pulling on his hair without mercy.
'I'm so sorry, I probably woke her up! I just wanted to talk with Yolei!' Ken calms her down and tells her, Yolei went to visit Sora for some 'women talk'.
So Kari goes to Matt's home where he's living with Sora.
Since Matt wants to be an astronaut he is usually not at home because of his 'space troubles'. That's why Sora's mother opens the door and invites her in.
She's not in a very good mood so she just shows Kari where to find her friends. Kari goes to the second floor and stays still for a moment. Sora's mother told
her to go there but she didn't tell her which room she must go in. In the second floor there were at least eight different doors and she didn't want to enter all
of them. Slowly she goes to the first door and just wants to knock when she hears laughing from one of the other rooms. She follows it and knocks on the door
from where she heard someone's laugh.
'Come in!' Yolei's voice. Kari opens the door and enters the room. Sora, Yolei and Mimi are standing in front of a great mirror. Kari opens her mouth surprisenly.
'Oh my god, Sora! You're just beautiful!'
Sora starts to laugh and so does Mimi and Yolei.
'I've told you, you look great in this dress!' Mimi puts her arms around Sora's shoulder and smiles.
'I don't know, Mimi ...'
'Are you crazy? You look wonderful! Don't tell me you've designed it by yourself!' Kari is amazed by her dress, she steps closer to the mirror.
'Of course she has! Don't be silly, Sora ... Matt will die when he sees you!' Girls start to laugh and Kari remembers why exactly she came here.
'I have some news,' she says seriously. Yolei and Mimi give her a scared look, Sora is just looking herself in the mirror. As if she would know ...
'Tai is coming next week.'
Mimi and Yolei stop to breath for a second and wait for Sora's reaction.
'Do you think ... he will stay for the-' Sora asks her reflection in the mirror.
'I don't know ...' Yolei is looking at her beautiful dress and she can still remember the incident she saw so long ago.
'Oh, c'mon, girls! This was just so long ago! It's been two years since we've seen each other. I'm sure he lives a normal life and that he won't be angry at you.
Besides, why should he be? You two are just past now. He can't blaime you for nothing!' Mimi tries to calm her down by saying things she doesn't really believe.
She saw Tai a couple of times this year and she knows how he still feels. I don't get it ... she thinks.
'When is Matt coming home?' Kari tries to change the subject.
'I don't know ...' Sora answers without really knowing what Kari asked her.
Tai comes to Japan on Friday. First of all he leaves all his stuff at Kari's house and then he goes for a cup of coffee with Davis. Davis always knows best
what new happened and he never tells anything what's not sure.
They are sitting in Davis's favourite pub and talking about last two years. Tai wants to know everything. They are laughing, drinking and recalling
their memories. Davis tells him everything about his relationship with Kari (which is much better since T.K. started to write books and is constantly abroad -
Davis laughs evilly).
'I was sure you won't come this time,' Davis says to stop the sudden silence.
'Why wouldn't I? I've missed you, guys!' Tai smiles at him and calls the waiter. 'It's time for us to go now. I've promised Kari I'll be home at five!'
They both leave the pub.
'OK, great. Please tell Kari you're alright. She's really nervous because of you and ... Sora.' Davis smiles.
'Me and ... Sora? C'mon, that's so long ago!' Too long ...
'I know, man, that's what I've said her thousand times! Tai won't be depressed when he hears Sora and Matt are getting married, don't be silly!' Davis starts
to laugh. Tai suddenly stops walking. He remembers Kari's strange phone call and Matt's message ... I need to talk to you about something ... But this happened
already a month ago! He hasn't heard a thing from Matt since then.
'Umm, Davis, sorry, I need ... I must visit someone,' he says in a strange way and not really to Davis. Davis doesn't try to stop him when he turns around and goes
away. He just knows he made a mistake.
'Why, God, why?! Kari is going to kill me! Why nooow, she just accepted to go to the cinema with me!!' Davis is standing, watching the sky and yelling at it. He almost cries when he takes his cellphone from his bag to call Kari.
'No, Davis, it's OK, you couldn't know ... I should have told him this ... No, it's really OK ... Yeah yeah, we can still go and see that stupid film ... OK, bye,'
Kari ends their conversation. She left Sora, Mimi and Yolei two hours ago. She is just shopping for the dinner she wanted to make for Tai. She calls Sora to tell her
what happened.
'Hello, Kari?' Mimi's voice.
'Mimi? Is something wrong?'
'Tai came ... He and Sora went for a walk. It was like he would already knew everything but doesn't want to show it ...'
'He does know, Davis told him ...'
'Oh my ... Thanks god I sent Yolei to spy on them!' Mimi says and makes Kari smile.
Yolei never told anyone what she saw so many years ago. She didn't even ask Sora about it. She did tell Hawkmon but he is a male so he wasn't really interested in
some love stories. After Mimi told her to spy on Tai and Sora Yolei's imagination reached its highest point and she could just imagine what she might see. She
loves romances and that's why she married Ken. He could be so romantic!
She sees her victims in front of her and hides in some bushes. She listens carefully and has her eyes wide open.
'I just don't understand why noone told me. What could you possibly think? That I would cry like a baby and beg you to stop the wedding? I don't know, Sora, but
I thought we were friends.' Tai's voice is hurt.
'I'm so sorry. I told Matt not to tell you that. I wanted to do it myself. But ... I was scared. I think I really thought something bad might happen. Forgive me.'
They stop walking by the river and are staring in it. They are still for a few moments. Yolei goes closer.
'When are you two getting married?' Tai breaks the silence.
'Umm, on next Saturday.'
Tai says something Yolei can't hear. Sora smiles.
'I'm sorry. I was stupid. But it really happened so quickly. Matt asked me to marry him just a month ago! My mother isn't really happy because of that.'
I see ... Is it possible that Matt was afraid I could ruin ther relationship if I came to the meeting?
'When does Matt come home?'
'Tomorrow, I guess. We need to ...' Sora becomes red and stops talking.
'Oh, c'mon! Don't say you won't be talking about the wedding because of me! I'm not a kid anymore and besides ... I'm much older now, Sora. Even my feelings change.'
After saying his last words he sadly looks in the sky and remembers the good old days.
Yolei thinks she saw enough and leaves the park. Soon after her, Sora and Tai also leave it in silence.
'Oh, Ken, it's so sad to see him like that!' Yolei just put their daughter in bed and joined her husband at the kitchen table. He is reading a statement from
a digimon that witnessed a crime in the digiworld.
'I know, honey. But it's really been six or seven years since Tai went to Europe. He'll be fine. I'm sure he had many different girls out there and he doesn't
love Sora anymore. Don't worry ... Yes! I knew something was wrong with this statement! Meramon couldn't see Pagumon unless he was using his fire!' Ken is all
happy because he figured out Meramon was the one who burned down some part of the digiworld. Yolei just smiles while watching him. His eyes are shining when he
solves a case. She loves it.
After eating the dinner, Kari shows her brother some pictures she took on their last meeting a year ago, where Tai couldn't come. She hid those pictures with Sora
and Matt on them before showing them to Tai. He did notice that but he didn't say a word.
'Oh god, I didn't know Joe could dance!' Tai laughs.
'Well, he doesn't really,' Kari smiles at him.
Soon after they saw the pictures, the phone rings. Kari answers it. She isn't really happy when she sees Matt is calling. She gives her brother the phone.
'Hello? Hi, Matt. Fine, fine, you? How? In an hour? Hmm ...' Tai looks at Kari. 'Well OK, but I won't stay long. Bye.'
'What did he want?' asks Kari and tries not to sound too worried.
'He wants us to meet,' he says. 'Because of the wedding probably.'
Tai goes to his room to prepare himself. Kari is thinking, if she should follow them to make sure everything will be ok. She knows how many times Matt and Tai
fought when they were younger. Then she decides not to spy on her brother. I'll just wait till he goes there and call Yolei or Mimi for an advice.
Almost an hour later Tai leaves the flat and Kari calls Mimi. She doesn't pick up the phone so she tries with Yolei. She doesn't get her on the phone either so
she decides to wait. She doesn't want to call Sora. She isn't sure if she knows about Matt's plan and doesn't want them to argue because of her long mouth just
before the wedding. She remembers she promised Davis to go to the cinema with him. To forget about her fear because of Tai, she goes to her room to choose the
dress she is going to wear for the cinema tomorrow.
Tai comes to the pub. Matt is already there, drinking a strange green drink and reading an article about the new planet that was discovered. He sees Tai and
puts the article away. Tai comes to their table and asks the waiter to bring him a glass of water.
Matt and Tai give each other a friendly hug and sit. Tai can see how nervous his friend is. Even though he is angry at him because he didn't tell him about the
wedding, he tries to calm him down.
'C'mon, Matt, I won't bite you.'
Matt laughs: 'Sorry, it's been long, hasn't it? Since we've seen each other on that meeting. We didn't really talk much.'
'I know.'
'Tai ... I'm really sorry because of ... you know what.'
'No, I don't really. Because you're going to marry or because you didn't tell me you are?'
'Well ... both.'
'You don't have to apologises to me because of the wedding thing. And well, it's OK. I know it would be hard for you to tell me. You still think I'm in love with
her. Well, it's been really long since then. You shouldn't be worried. Sora is my past.' Lier.
'Really? That's great, man! I knew you'd be like that! Women are so over reacting sometimes!' Matt smiles and orders that same suspicious green drink for
his best friend.
'This is good. What is this?' Tai asks after drinking it.
'I have no idea. Hey, Tai, would you like to be my best man?'
Tai is surprised and looks at his friend.
'I'd me honored,' he says in a strange way but Matt doesn't really notice anything.
Tai comes home late in the night. He doesn't want to wake Kari, so he just jumps into his bed and falls asleep. He didn't know Kari is still awake
talking on the phone with Mimi.
'He just came home.'
'And? Is everything OK? How is he?' Mimi is curious as always.
'I don't know. He went to his room. Everything is quiet. He's probably already sleeping.'
'Ooh ...'
'Does Sora know about their meeting?'
'I'm not sure. I think she at least suspect it. She sure was strange when Matt left the house. I think she probably knew.'
'Was Yolei there?'
'No, she went home. So, tell me, Kari. Davis told me, you have a date tomorrow!'
'Well ... It's not really a date. We're just going to see a film.'
'Yeah, he he he.'
'What?'
'Nothing, nothing.' Mimi smiles at herself. She remembers how she helped Davis to beat T.K. It is something cute about this boy, I had to help him! She ends the
conversation, goes to the bathroom and starts to wash her hair. She stops smiling after she thinks about that converstaion she had with Sora.
'I'm not sure anymore,' said Sora. 'But please, Mimi, don't tell anyone. I'll do what I have to do.'
'Don't worry, they won't hear it from me,' Mimi says to her reflection in the mirror.
'You did WHAT?!' Sora is angry of her future husband when he tells her what he asked Tai to be for him. 'You're kidding me! How could you!?'
Matt is surprised to see Sora so angry. He thought she would happy for it!
'I'm sorry, dear, I didn't know this was wrong! He said he's OK! And besides ... He's my best friend! Who should I ask to be my best man!'
'Your brother perhaps?! Like it was planned from the first place! What were you thinking??'
'But he told me, he's OK with that. Why would he accept it, if he didn't want to do it??'
'You men can be so blind sometimes!!' she yells at him and goes to her room. She jumps into her bed and starts crying. Matt enters her room not knowing what he did
wrong.
'Could you just tell me, what's wrong, Sora?' he asks her and sits on her bed.
'You know how he feels, Yamato! You DO know that!'
Oh god, she must really be angry if she called me after my real name!
'Look. He told me, you were his past. I thought it would be nice to let him be my best man. I don't see what's so horrible on that.'
Sora turns her face to her future husband.
'He really said that?'
'Yes. See, everything will be fine.'
'Please, leave me alone for a while. I'll come down after you.'
Matt leaves the room and closes the door. Sora is still lying on her bed thinking.
No, I know you're lying, Tai. I can see that. And so can the others.
After Sora wanted him to leave, Matt went to his room confused and sat on his blue chair. He turned the computer on. He wants to talk to someone and he knows
just a right person to talk to. Computer finally turns on and there it is. The gate to the digiworld. He tries to call Gabumon through the monitors in
the digital world but Gabumon is nowhere to find. He turns the computer off and goes to the window. It is raining. He's still confused and upset. He doesn't
know why Sora reacted that way. Is there something I've missed between them? I know Tai liked her in primary school, I know that! I thought he lost interests
in her in highschool ... I must talk to him ...
'This is just so complicated, you know?!' he yells at the bird who is sitting on the tree in front of the window. The bird flies away and Matt watches him until it disappears.
Tai wakes up early in the morning. He goes to Kari's kitchen and she is already there, drinking coffee.
'Oh, good morning, little sister!'
Kari looks at him and smiles: 'Come, sit down. I've made you a breakfast. I hope you'll like it.'
She gives him a plate with eggs and bread. 'Nothing special.'
'Oh, thanks, Kari, I'm really hungry!' Because he really isn't hungry he has a hard time eating those eggs but he doesn't want to hurt Kari's feelings.
'You're not hungry are you? You should have seen your face, Tai!' She starts laughing and so does he. But he eats the breakfast anyway.
* Later that day Kari goes to her bedroom and comes out in a cute red dress and new black boots.
'I'm going out with Davis,' she answers Tai before he even asks her anything.
'Have fun!'
Davis wanted to pick Kari up in his car but she didn't want him to do it. She said she wanted to visit a shop near cinema and she didn't want him to be bored.
That is why Davis waits for her alone. He is a bit worried. But not because of the date, it's because of their digidestined meeting! He will come ... Of course he
will ... He could destroy everything!
While thinking so pesimistic he doesn't see Kari waving at him on the other site of the street. When she finally arrives to his side he tries to close his mouth -
he's so impressed of her beauty.
'Oh, stop it,' she smiles after he gives her a compliment. 'Let's go or else we'll miss the film!' They buy two tickets for a horror film. While buying some popcorn
and cola, Davis thinks of Mimi's words. You must see a horror film, Dav! If she is scared, she might grab your arm or something! Just be sure you're not the one
who's scared, OK?
Davis and Kari go to watch the movie and they find their seats somewhere in the back of the hall. There are just a few people who decided to watch that particular
film.
Tai doesn't want to be captured with his thoughts in Kari's flat, so he goes out for a walk. The digidestined meeting was planned on Monday which means the day after tomorrow but there were some changes because of the wedding which was on the next Saturday. All digidestined are suppose to come on Monday and stay somewhere until the wedding. Just T.K. is probably coming on Wednesday because he has an important interview the day before. Tai stops at jewlery store, realising he hasn't bought any present for Sora and Matt! He enters the jewlery and asks the lady in the store to show him some precious pieces, he could gave someone for a wedding.
Mimi and Yolei with her daughter are having a dinner in an italian restaurant. They're talking about their outfit for the wedding.
'So, that's really OK for you?' Mimi asks.
'Yeah, don't worry. Ken will look after our little rabbit so that we can go shopping,' Yolei answers and looks at her daughter, sleeping in her arms.
'She's really cute ... He's after her father, isn't she? Dark hair ...'
'Mhm ...' Yolei smiles. 'And what's with you, Mimi? I've never asked you about your future plans!'
Mimi blushes and looks somewhere under the table.
'Well ... I don't really know. I was dating Michael, remember him? But that just wasn't it.
And I've been in a really good relationship with Izzy for some time now.'
'Ooh, that's great!'
'... and Joe!' Mimi cries.
'Oh ...'
Davis and Kari are laughing at some monsters who look just like Numemon. 'I still remember your first meeting with Numemon, Davis,' Kari whispers and starts to laugh even louder.
Matt tried to get Tai on the phone several times but no one picked it up in Kari's flat. He also tried to reach Tai on his cellphone but he had no luck.
He decided to find him because he wanted to speak with him before Sora comes home from shopping. She's really annoyed when she comes home and he's not there.
But he understands her. Because of his job, he's constantly doing researches and has not so much time for her left.
Matt rings on Kari's door but no one seems to be there. Oh, don't be stupid, Matt! Did you honestly think your best friend is avoiding you?!
Then he goes to visit some pubs and restaurants but in the end he goes back home with no success.
A man behind Kari and Davis tried to shut them down through the whole film because he couldn't concentrate because of their laughter. After the film, he pushes Kari away evilly to revenge himself.br> 'Hey!! Don't you do this to my- To her!' Davis yells after him and wants to jump at him. Kari grabs his hand to stop him.
'It's OK, Davis! He's just a fool. What a Kokatorimon!'
They both start to laugh again so wildly that many people turn around thinking how weird they are.
Tai still hasn't found the right present for his friends. He decides not to search for it anymore and goes home. He pulls his cellphone from his bag. He sees Matt tried to call him several times and Tai calls him back.
'Hello?' a female voice says and Tai recognises it immediately.
'Sora, hi! It's Tai. I just wanted to speak with Matt, he tried to call me but I didn't hear the phone ringing.'
'Oh, hey, Tai. I see ... He's just taking a shower, I think he was searching for you the whole afternoon.'
'I'm ... I'm sorry to hear that. So, er, can he call me back after the shower?'
'Yeah, he can ... But ...'
'Hm?'
'Oh, Tai, would you come for a dinner? We haven't been together, all three of us, for a while now!'
'I don't know. I don't want to bother you or anything ...'
'Don't be silly. I wanted to invite you anyway. See you at nine?'
Davis and Kari are sitting in a restaurant, eating pasta. They're talking about the times when they were saving the Digiworld.
'Remember BlackWarGreymon?'
'Yeah, of course ... That were some sad moments with him. Poor Digimon,' says Kari. 'So, Davis, are you excited to meet Joe and the others again? I can't wait!'
I hope you're not so happy because you'll see T.K. again.
'Yeah, of course! I can't wait 'til Wednesday when we're all going to be together!'
'Oh, you mean T.K.? Yeah, I'm happy to see him too,' Kari says and turns her head somewhere through the window.
Davis suddenly feels how sad he's just become.
Tai comes to Matt's house five minutes too early. Sora invites him in, the dinner is almost ready. Matt is still cooking fish and potatoes.
Sora shows Tai the way to the kitchen and Matt is really happy to see his friend.
'Hey, mate, I tried to reach you really hard!' Matt says and stops to cook potatoes.
'I'm sorry, I didn't hear the phone!'
Matt smiles and wants to ask Tai something but Sora's mother enters the kitchen suddenly and Matt must wait for another moment.
'Oh, hello, Tai. Haven't seen you for a long time now! You don't have your big hair anymore!'
Tai starts to laugh and Mrs. Takenouchi leaves the kitchen.
Five minutes later (Matt still couldn't talk to Tai about his feeling for Sora, because Sora wanted Tai to help her prepare the table) they're all sitting
around a big table, eating vegetable soup.
'Yummy, Matt, this is great!' Tai says.
'This was actually made by Sora,' Matt smiles and puts his on Sora's hand. Sora doesn't look really happy about his action and pulls her hand away. Matt is
confused again.
'Well, great, Sora. I didn't know you could cook!' Tai smiles at her.
'Haha, don't be mean!' Sora smiles back.
'Sorry, sorry!'
'Just kidding!'
They are both laughing and eating, it seems like they have forgotten about Matt's appearance. Matt is kinda jealous and tries to say something funny.
They laugh at his jokes too, but they sooner or later talk to each other almost ignoring Matt.
After eating the fish and potatoes ('That's great, Matt! Or was it you again, Sora?'), Sora goes to bring out the desert.
'Tai, I must have a word with you.'
Tai looks at Matt surprised.
'OK.'
Sora comes back with a cake. There is a special piece of it - in a shape of heart. Matt did it for his future wife but Sora wants to try something Mimi adviced her
to do. She gives that piece of cake to Tai. Tai becomes all red and both, Sora and Matt, notice that.
Matt is really annoyed about the cake. He sees Sora is watching Tai while eating her normal shaped cake. Tai is still red, eating his cake and looking down
on the table. When he finally looks at Matt and then at Sora, Sora suddenly looks down to her feet.
Matt becomes really upset. He doesn't take it anymore. Seeing his best friends acting like this is killing him! Does Tai still like her? Does SHE like him?!
'Tai, do you still have feelings for Sora?' he asks and breaks the silence.
Tai and Sora are both shocked. They stare at Matt, who is staring back at them. Tai doesn't answer his question, his mouth is wide open and his hand is still
holding a fork. Sora can't believe her ears.
'I must know this,' says Matt seriously.
'Matt, you're crazy to ask me this!' Tai recovers from shock.
'Please, mate, tell me the truth. I couldn't be with Sora not knowing the truth!' Matt says and turns to Sora. 'And you too. I need to know what's going
on between you two.'
'There's nothing going on between us, Matt! Trust me, man!' Tai cries before Sora answers anything.
Sora stays still, watching her future husband and her love from the past.
'I don't believe you, Tai!'
'Well, you should!' Tai says loudly. He jumps to his feet, still watching his best friend.
'I know that you don't mean to destroy anything, Tai, I just want the truth! Please!' Matt continues.
'There is nothing between us and it never was.' Tai wants to leave them both, his hands are all sweaty, his heart is crazy, he remembers the day when he found
out Sora and Matt are dating. Stop it. Stop it!
'I know how you felt, Tai! I really thought you lost your interest in her in high school! I must know if I was wrong, c'mon, Tai! Tell me the freaking truth!'
'Stop it, Matt. It's just like he said. There was nothing between us!' Sora tries to stop Matt. She's afraid to hear something she wouldn't like to hear.
'Yeah, that is what it was, Matt. Nothing.' Tai leaves the room with these last silent words without looking back at his friends.
He's angry because of Matt. Because he realised what was happening so late, too late. But well, wasn't Sora the one who picked Matt and not him? Does it even matters?!
'Tai, wait, please!' Sora runs after him when he's already outside, trying to avoid her.
'Thanks for the dinner, Sora. It was fun,' he says and tries to stop a taxi.
'C'mon, Tai, don't be so! Matt ... Matt just doubted in your feelings. Please, come back. I ... I don't want this evening to end like this! Please!'
Taxi comes and Tai opens the door.
'Tai, don't go, please! I'll tell Matt not to be so stupid! We ... we're just friends aren't we?!'
Sora cries hoping for an answer she shouldn't hope for.
'Yes, of course, Sora,' Tai says and turns himself to her, smiling. 'Cya on Monday. Don't worry, I'll call Matt and tell him I ... I ... Well, cya!'
Tai jumps in and taxi goes away. Sora stays there, wathing Tai leaving and holding her tears back.
Davis walks home alone, still remembering Kari's face, when she mentioned T.K. He smiles. 'Well, it was worth trying.'
He takes his cellphone from his bag and calls Ken for a drink.
Three men are sitting around the table in a dark pub, drinking something green.
'That was it, boys!' Davis says.
'Are you sure? She did go on a date with you, Dav!' Ken says.
'Yeah, and she needed a whole day to prepare herslef for it!' Tai says to calm him down without knowing how long his sister really needed to dress herself.
'Eeh, it's OK. It was really too long to wait for her. No idiot would wait for so long!' Davis continues the conversation. He doesn't like the green drink but he
drinks it anyway.
'You're one lucky bastard, Ken!'
'I know. I'm sorry for you two, guys. But you know, there are many even better women than Sora and Kari!'
'Watch out! Kari is still my sister!'
'Er ... Sorry.'
They start to laugh.
Sora, Kari and Mimi are sitting in a pub on the other side of the town.
'Yolei couldn't come, Ken had an urgent call and she couldn't take their little daughter with her,' says Mimi who has just come to meet her two friends.
'Oh ...' say both, Kari and Sora.
'You don't seem to be really happy about your evenings! What happened?!'
Sora and Kari tell her their story.
The next day.
'Oh, great! You and Koushirou can stay at my house, T.K. will probably stay at his brother's house. Yeah, no problem, Joe, cya tomorrow!' Davis had a phone
call from Joe. Tomorrow is the day of the meeting and Cody is the only one who still hasn't confirmed his arriveal.
Kari tried to call Davis in the morning but he didn't want to pick up the phone. He decided to avoid her because he wants to forget all about her. He knows
that when T.K. will come, everything will fall in the water.
He has a headache because of that green drink they had yesterday. He decides to sleep a while not to think about his love problems. But he has a dream about
he and Kari getting married, which makes him even more sad.
Later that day he visits Mimi in her restaurant. He works there as a soup-cook when he's not traveling around the world and selling his master-soup to the most
rich and famous people. Mimi is preparing the restaurant for the big meeting which will (like always) be at her place. 'Hey, Dav. What's up?' Mimi says, smiling
at him. 'Could you bring me those chairs there? I'd really need some help, you know. Sora has too much to do with her wedding, Kari was here in the morning and by
the way, she asked about you, she said you don't want to talk to her! Is that right?'
Davis is kinda confused of Mimi's quick talk but he recoveres quickly.
'Wha-? I can help you, if you want. But I can't stay long, I must prepare my apartment for Joe and Izzy, who are by the way both asking about you, Mimi!'
Mimi turns all red and walks away to make sure everything is OK in the kitchen.
Kari is lieing on her bed, thinking of T.K. and Davis. She and T.K. were great friends already when they were nine. He was a little annoying because he cried a
lot but he was still her friend! And then they saw each other again two years later when he became her classmate. And that was the time, she met Davis too. She
knew he liked her but he was a little too annoying and his attitude reminded her on some obsession. But later when Ken came, everything changed! She missed his
kindness and the things she thought were annoying in the first place. T.K. cared a lot for her but he wasn't and still isn't prepared to do everything for her.
She still remembers that day three years ago, when she asked him not to leave Japan and her but he didn't want to be famous just in Japan. He didn't even want
to take her with him! She knows Davis would do everything for her. At least he was prepared to do everything for her.
'I don't know ... I'll see on Wednesday.'
Sora has an appointment with her designer boss. She is waiting for her in a great building, well known as one of the best designer companies.
She's not in the mood to have talks about her new wedding designs, she had to do 'til this Sunday. She's still thinking about Tai. She's confused
about her relationship with Matt. They were getting along really well despite the fact Matt was often out and she usually ate alone with her mother.
And then Tai came ... And she started to remember how she liked him so many years ago and how she wanted him to realise that! If you could see that, I
would never go on a date with Matt. You fool ... You fool ...
'Sora?' Her boss came so quietly that she didn't even hear her.
'Oh, hi, Mrs. Hongo. How are you doing?'
*
After a long day of chatting about other designer groups, designers and Sora's work, Sora decides to walk home. That will be great to clear my mind.
She sees a family with three children playing with their parents. She stops walking and tries to imagine how it would be, if she and Matt had a baby like this.
Could that even happen? Do I love him enough? Is this a bad sign that now, when Tai came, I suddenly doubt in my love? Or am I just confused because I don't want
to hurt Tai? He's my best friend after all! And what Mimi said last night ...
'He blushed when you gave him the cake? I'm telling you, girl, he still likes you. But still, Sora, you shouldn't doubt in your decission because of him! He's a
grown man, he won't die because of it! Please, Sora, don't make anything stupid!'
Sora goes away from the happy family. There's only one thing I can do to see if I should really marry Matt.
Sunday slowly ended and Monday came. It was 8 in the morning, when Sora woke up. Just five more hours and we'll meet again. I have to do this before it!
She tries not to wake up Matt and leaves their bedroom. Her mother scares her to death when she jumps in the room quietly as if she was a ghost.
'Mum, c'mon, I've told you before not to wear this white coat! I thought you were a ghost!'
Sora cries at her mother.
'Sorry, dear. I heard you left your room. What's wrong, Sora?'
'Nothing really, mum. Don't worry, I'll be fine,' Sora smiles at her mother and calms her down. As soon as she leaves the room, Sora dresses herself and leaves the house. She has a clear goal in front of her. Kari's apartment.
Tai woke up already at 7. He couldn't sleep and took a walk. He is just walking in the park, listening to a little too loud birds and trying to think of his
future. You never lose your hope, did you, you jerk?
He remembers all women he had a relationship with but he doesn't feel anything special about them.
He decides to go back home, it's already 8:30 AM. He walks slowly and buys himself a sendwich in a street-store. He eats it when he just comes around the corner
and then he sees someone. His heart starts to beat stronger. It's Sora, ringing on Kari's door.
He comes closer to hear what they are talking.
'Sorry, I think, he went for a walk or something, Sora. He's not at home,' Kari says in a sleepy voice.
'Oh, thanks, Kari. Sorry to wake you up so early.'
'No problem. I'll tell him, you were searching for him.'
'Thanks again ...'
Sora looks kinda sad and he goes away. Tai wants to call her back just to watch and talk to her. No, you shouldn't. Forget about her! She's going to marry your
best friend. Noo!
He turns away, trying not to think of her. But then ...
'Sora!!!' he screams after her. She stops and turns around. He can see how happy she is to see him. He runs towards her and she's there, waiting for her. Oh,
if he could only hold her in his arms forever ...
'Tai! I ... I'm so happy we didn't miss!' she says and grabs his hands.
'Yeah, well, what's up? What are you doing here so early in the morning? Want to have a cup of coffee? I found a perfect cafe!'
Sora nods and they go there. A few minute later they realise they're lost.
'I don't get it! I lived in Odaiba for so many years but I have never been here!' Tai is surprised and sort of angry.
'It's OK. We'll find a way!' Sora smiles and they start to look for a way out of the unknown street.
'That's better!' Tai says when he sees a known street. He runs to it and stops because Sora isn't following him.
'Sora?'
'Remember the last time we were here, Tai?' she asks quietly.
Tai recognises the place immidiately. It is the same street where he hugged Sora for the last time eleven years ago.
'Yeah ... How could I forget something like that!'
They are both still, Sora comes closer to Tai.
'It's good that we know where we are, right? But I don't think I'll find that cafe once more! It's a new one. It wasn't here when I still used to live here!'
Tai smiles.
'Tai ... I must know.'
Sora is watching him. Tai is confused.
'Know what?'
'You know, Tai. I must know ... if you still have feelings for me ... ' Sora says quietly, it looks like she's holding her tears back.
Tai is watching her for a while and then he suddenly smiles. He puts his hands on her shoulders once again.
'I've always loved you, Sora.'
He comes closer to her, knowing she won't resist and he kisses her.
The meeting began at 1 PM. Joe was the first one who came, he was followed by Cody and Izzy, who was late. There is food on the tables, drinks everywhere and everyone
is in the best mood. Everyone except two people, who don't want to sit near each other. Sora and Tai. Sora can't believe she let Tai kiss her. She is thinking of
their kiss, which makes her happy but angry too. She is watching Tai now, carefully, she doesn't want anyone to notice it. Matt is just having a phonecall.
Tai on the other side of the restaurant is chatting with Izzy.
'It's not that hard, you know. Now that people are aware of Digimon and Digiworld, I'm constantly invited to dinners and companies. It's quite fun, but you're right,
I have no time for myself! It was luck, I could take a break and come here for a week!' Izzy says and Tai nods. 'Everything alright?' Kari comes to Sora.
'Of course!' Sora answers and turns all red. Kari is confused.
'Davis is really avoiding me,' Kari continues their conversation.
'Huh? Oh, yeah ... I mean ... Why? You didn't say something wrong, did you? And T.K. was only mentioned once!'
'I know ...'
'So, what will you do? T.K., Davis or no one? If you pick T.K., we'll be a real family!' Sora smiles at her.
'Well, if you picked my brother, we'd also be a family, you know?' Kari says and winks to Sora. She leaves her then alone and starts to talk to Joe.
In the afternoon the Digidestined decide to visit their partners in the Digiworld.
'Mimiii!!' Palmon is running towards them.
'Palmooon!' Mimi jumps in her Digimon's arms.
'Nice to see you, Matt. I saw you were looking for me the other day. I was just having a dinner with some friends!' Gabumon hugs his partner. Sora watches
them carefully. Matt wanted to talk to Gabumon? I wonder why ...
'Hey, Biyomon!' she says next. 'How are you?'
'Oh, Joe! You decided to come so soon already? I'm just kidding, don't give me that look!'
Since Joe is a doctor in the Digiworld, he's constantly there with Gomamon.
'Guess what, Davis? Gatomon finally went out with me! Nice, what?' Veemon and Davis disappear in the bushes because Veemon doesn't want anyone to hear his story.
'Well, shall we go now? We've found a great spot for a picknick! After me!' Gatomon says and they all follow her.
'Dav? Aren't you coming?' Ken asks his friend, who's still in the bushes.
'Coming!!!'
It was a nice day in the Digiworld. They ate snacks first (because they already ate at Mimi's) and then they were chatting, having fun with their Digimon,
taking walks in the Digiworld and even swam in the river.
Davis wanted to keep an eye on Ken's daughter because he wanted to have an excuse for Kari, if she wished to talk to him.
'Shhh, you'll wake her up!'
'But she's not even sleeping!'
Kari realises Davis doesn't want to talk to her. She's really annoyed by that and she leaves him there alone with the baby.
'What's wrong, Davis? Why are you avoiding her?' Yolei asks him and tries to take her daughter back.
'Oooh, can I please hold her a little bit longer?? I'm not avoiding anyone!!'
'C'mon, we're not stupid!'
'Hey, I'm your daughter's godfather, don't forget that! It's my duty to keep an eye on her!'
'Yes, it is, but you shouldn't ignore Kari for it. I'm here, give her to me and go and talk to Kari. She won't bite you, you know!'
'She couldn't bite me anywhere else, she already killed me with her attitude!' Davis says evilly and soon he regrets what he said. 'Just joking.'
'I won't tell anyone.'
'Thanks, Yolei. You're the best!' Davis stands up, Ken is coming closer.
'Should I be jealous or what?' he smiles and kisses his wife and daughter.
In the evening, they all decide to go back to the real world. They leave their Digimon in their world. Mimi and Matt prepare them all a cup of coffee and the
Digidestined are sitting around a table, talking about their lifes.
Cody and Ken have a discussion about criminal Digimon and human. Cody is telling him about a case he had a few weeks ago. Tai is also a part of their conversation,
he knows a lot about the relationship between digital and real world.
Mimi, Joe and Izzy are talking about the good old days. Mimi is confused becuse she still doesn't know who she would choose if she had to choose one of them.
Davis and Matt are having a conversation about cooking. Matt explains to his friend what they eat when they're travelling in the outer space.
The other girls are having their secret little chats, no one is supposed to hear.
'You did what?!' Yolei whispers loud to Sora.
'I didn't do anything!' Sora repiles. 'He was there and I just couldn't move! I ...'
'Oh my god, Sora. What now! I'm sorry to say this but this is my brother, you're talking about!
I really don't want you to give him false hope or something!'
'I know, I know! But what should I do?!'
They all turn their heads to Tai and back to Matt.
'I have no idea,' says Yolei and ends the conversation.
They want to continue their secret conversation but someone interupts them. It's Davis, who wants to talk to Kari. Kari leaves her two friends and follows him
out of the room.
'Should I follow them?' asks Yolei. Sora laughs:
'I think Ken is telling you too much about his work! You're just like a detective!'
Davis and Kari are standing outside. It's cold. Davis leans himself on the door, Kari watches him carefully. She doesn't want to start the talk. You wanted me
to come out, you start!
It seems like Davis is having a hard time with something. He's constantly opening his mouth to start talking but he closes it in the last second. Finally,
he coughs and then says:
'I'm going away for a while.'
'Oh ...' Kari doesn't know what to say.
'I'm going to make some calls tomorrow. Then I'm going to leave Japan and live abroad somewhere. I have a great chance to open a restaurant in Spain.'
'Oh ... great ... When are you going?' Kari asks. She doesn't want to feel this way but she does. She's sad.
'I'll wait 'til the wedding is over.'
'Where are you going to stay?'
'Probably somewhere in Spain. Perhaps Madrid.'
They stand still, starring in opposite directions.
It's just like three years ago, Kari thinks. He'll leave me too. Just like T.K. did. But well ... Who would blame him for that. It's all my fault. I'll stay
alone forever, feeding at least twenty cats in a smelly apartment!
Kari is holding her tears back. She doesn't want to lose another friend. Not Davis! He's the one who was always there for her! Mimi will travel back to
America as soon as Sora is married, Yolei will have too much to do with her family, Sora will be a wife and perhaps even a mother! And she ... She'll
continue to work in a kindergarten, all alone.
Don't be stupid, Kari! You will meet someone! I'm sure you will! C'mon!
'That's what I wanted you to know ... Er, should we go back inside? It's kinda cold here.'
Davis is already going inside.
'No, you go. I'll stay here for a while ...'
Davis nods to her and disappears. Kari starts to watch the stars.
'Amazing ... How unimportant we seem to be against the universe ... How silly I am ...' she doesn't hold her tears anymore. 'T.K. had right. I can't be alone! I
... I need someone to be with ...' She sits down, pushes her head between her knees and starts crying.
'You stupid, stupid, stupid woman! T.K. is just a fool! A fool!!'
It's almost midnight but the Digidestined are still awake, talking, laughing, eating and drinking. Joe decided to sing something (he drank too much). So he's
singing there - quite well - Mimi is dancing with Yolei, Ken is sitting in the corner, trying to get his daughter asleep, Davis, Cody, Matt and Izzy are
sitting beside him. Women are the only one who notice Tai, Sora and Kari are missing.
'I hope everything will be OK! I was the one who always adviced them!' Mimi says to Yolei a bit scared.
'Don't worry, they'll be fine! They're not 10 anymore!'
Joe is still singing.
Tai and Sora are sitting in front of the restaurant. Kari is on the other side of the building, still crying.
'I'm sorry. I shouldn't did that to you,' Tai says while drinking his coffee.
'Yeah ... you shouldn't. But you did. You can't change it. I ... I just don't want Matt to know ...'
'I won't tell a thing, Sora.'
Sora doesn't say anything more.
'I must tell you something. I can't go to your wedding, I'm sorry.' Tai says calmly.
'Why not?? Don't be so ... Tai, I ... I ...'
'No, please, Sora. I just can't, OK? I really meant what I told you yesterday. I love you and I can't change that. It's weird that I still
have feelings for you, I know it is. I'll wait for T.K. to come, to say hello to him but I won't stay for the wedding.'
'That's my last decission,' he says in the end when he sees Sora wants to say something.
He stands up to leave Sora alone with her thoughts. But before he enters the restaurant, Sora stops him.
'I really liked you back then in primary school, you know,' she smiles sadly. 'I understand you don't want to be there. I wouldn't want it either on your place.
But please, don't be angry at me. I'm sorry.'
Tai is watching his feet, saying these words:
'Just like the last time. I'm not asking for your apology, you foolish girl ... I want you to be happy. And it means much more to me to be your number one
friend than to be your boyfriend or even husband!'
He then leaves her alone, sitting on the floor, watching the trees, the moon, the stars and thinking of the good old days.
Kari comes back in, she sees Davis sitting alone in the corner. His male friends went to bring them another drink. Kari decides to do it right away.
She had enough time to think about it outside. Her eyes are a bit red but no one suspects anything.
She's almost there, just a few steps more, but ...
'Hello, guys! I thought you'll be already sleeping!'
The known voice stops her steps. She and Davis both turn themselves to the door. There is a blonde man standing, having an orange Digimon on his head.
'T.K.!' Kari cries.
